project 2 - inprog

i chose these effects to try to portray a fun, easy-going feeling that has a lot of movement to it to keep the viewer engaged. think of it like a sensory video for babies maybe

i referenced multiple videos:

"Hand-drawn, Scribble Look on Adobe After Effects" by ANIMOTION

"How to Morph Shapes - After Effects Tutorial" by MOBOX Graphics

"4 Line Motion Accent Graphic Techniques in After Effects | Tutorial" by SonduckFilm

  1. I like how you combined all the various tutorials and ideas in a really cohesive way, like how the white line curves around the blue shape when it is a circle: it's a nice detail. I think your progress so far is really fun and reflects your own style in many ways. I think the only thing I could maybe critique so far is that the background might be a bit too distracting or moving a bit too quickly. Overall I think you've made great progress and I'm excited to see where this goes!

  2. I'm really glad you chose to try out a bunch of different effects and animations, it makes the full video look like its own effect. The transition between the square and circle shape is really smooth which looks great alongside the smooth movement of the white line. I think I agree a little bit with Camdyn, the background has a cool effect but with the bold colors as well it becomes a bit busy. Otherwise super cool!

  3. wow. I really love the textures here. It reminds me of the colors and grain I see when I close and rub my eyes. I'm looking forward to seeing how you refine the colors and movements to fit with your personal interstitial. How does text enter into this? How does it stand out against the busy patterns and movement?
